Organic GardenLearn to take control of your food with this 5 week Intensive Organic Gardening Workshop at The Funny Farm in Stone Mountain, Georgia. This workshop begins on February 6, 2011 from 1 PM to 4 PM and runs every other Sunday through April 3, 2011. Each class is divided between classroom work and hands-on work in the garden teaching you organic methods of gardening. Class size is limited to 10 students and the cost is $300.

Week 1 – Organic Gardening Foundations
Week 2 – Garden Planning
Week 3 – Seed Starting, Soil Preparation, Cover Crops, Transplanting
Week 4 – Pest Control Strategies
Week 5 – Permaculture Strategies in your Garden

Glass Studio Date Night

Are you looking for something different to do on a date? How about trying a date night at the Siyeh Glass Studio. This unique evening offers either glass blowing, making a plate or a bowl with kilnforming, or beadmaking. In 2 hours each person can make 2 to 3 glassblowing projects, or 1 large bowl or plate, or many beads. You don’t have to have any experience, just come in and have some fun. For $145 per couple, you get all the tools and materials to make the project of your choice, drinks such as wine, beer, or non alcoholic beverages, and snacks such  as cheese and crackers, pita and hummus, fruit and chocolate. Brunch dates include mimosas (champagne or sparkling water and orange juice) pastries, fruit, and chocolate.

Date nights are open Tuesday through Thursday evenings 7 to 9 , Friday afternoons 3 to 5 and evenings 7 to 9. Saturday and Sunday afternoons 11 to 1 and 3 to 5, and evenings 7 to 9. Contact Siyeh Glass Studio at 404-373-4729 to get more information.
